Thoracic & Vascular Consultants is a surgeon's practice, specializing in open heart surgery. When looking for design inspiration, I saw a common trend where designers simply used a heart in the logo. I wanted to be abstract, still use a heart, but have many meanings behind it.

The symbol is comprised of three blocks, which are transformed and rotated partial letters from the practice name to form the heart. 

Fun fact: When trying to arrange the blocks into the heart design, I was frustrated at one point because nothing was lining up right as I envisioned. So I slammed my mouse on the desk and inadvertently moved the top right block (the "C") up where it sits now. Then I noticed it formed a wave in the negative space as you would see on a heart monitor.
